صدقاللهالعظيم

Ma'asyiral Muslimin Rahimakumullah..

Let us improve the quality of our devotion to Allah by always striving to follow the path to His pleasure, carrying out all His commands and avoiding all His prohibitions. Especially in this holy month of Ramadan, let us improve ourselves and our hearts, with the hope that we will emerge from this holy month clean and have earned the title of al-muttaquun namely a person who is devout. As Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah: 183

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَیۡكُمُ message لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

It means: O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become pious. (QS. Al-Baqarah 183)

Ma'asyiral Muslimin Rahimakumullah

Fasting is Allah's command to believers, which must be carried out for the entire month of Ramadan, the aim is to make us pious people.

However, there are three categories of people during this holy month of Ramadan—one of which we ourselves may fall into. This will serve as food for reflection and self-reflection, enabling us to become better individuals.

Ma'asyiral Muslimin Rahimakumullah..

The 3 (three) groups include:

1. Group of Lucky People

Who are those lucky people?

This group is, those who have succeeded in achieving the highest essence of fasting, namely Piety. The lucky ones are those who fast, First not only refraining from eating and drinking and all things that invalidate the fast outwardly, but also protecting oneself from things that invalidate the fast inwardly or from things that invalidate the reward of fasting.

For example, guarding your tongue from useless speech, backbiting, gossip, cursing and insulting and spreading slander. Keep your eyes on things that are haram and inviting lust, protect your hearing, protect your heart from all diseases of the heart in the form of pride, envy (envy and envy), revenge, showing off, and so on, guarding the actions of one's hands from taking something that is not rightfully theirs and tyrannizing other people.

Second, Other obligatory acts of worship are maintained, obligatory prayers are not neglected and their quality even increases. As well as worship sunnah prioritized and even become a habit, such as giving alms, reading the Koran, Qiyamul Lail, etc.

People from this group, whose sins are forgiven, their prayers are answered, and they come out of the month of Ramadan, as a new person (mentally and spiritually pure) or what is called muttaqun. Prophet May Allah bless him and grant him peace said.

مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ

It means: “Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward (from Allah), his past sins will be forgiven.” (HR. Bukhari no. 38 and Muslim no. 760)

2. The Group of People Who Are at a Loss

Who are the losers?

He is a fasting person whose fast is valid according to Islamic law, because he is able to refrain from eating and drinking and all things that invalidate the fast outwardly, but in terms of reward, it is empty because he is unable to protect himself from things that invalidate the fast inwardly or from things that invalidate the reward of fasting.

He is unable to keep his tongue from useless words, always gossiping, likes to gossip, curse, insult, and even has a hobby of spreading slander. He is unable to keep his eyes from things that are forbidden and invite evil. lust, his heart was filled with heart diseases in the form of pride, hasad (envy and envy). revenge, riya', and so on, as well as tyrannizing other people.

He can endure hunger and thirst all day, but he cannot restrain himself from sin. He neglects other obligatory acts of worship, claiming to be weak from hunger. He performs obligatory prayers lazily or even skips them. He also neglects voluntary acts of worship.

Such people were warned by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in the hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad and Ibn Majah.

رُبَّ صَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ or God bless you السَّهَرُ

It means: "“How many people fast but get nothing from their fast except hunger, and how many people pray at night but get nothing from their prayer except staying up late (staying awake at night).“"“.(Narrated by Ahmad & Ibn Majah)

The Prophet Muhammad also said:

مَنْ لَمْ يَدَعْ قَوْلَ الزُّورِ وَالْعَمَلَ بِهِ فَلَيْسَ لِلَّهِ حَاجَةٌ فِي أَنْ يَدَعَ طَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ

It means: “"Whoever does not abandon lying and committing evil (sin), then Allah does not need (does not accept) his efforts in abandoning his food and drink."”. (Narrated by Bukhari)

3. Class of Wretched People

This is the most concerning group, because they neglect the glory of the holy month of Ramadan. These people are the wretched and cursed by Allah. Why? Because they claim to be Muslim, they are not crazy, they are... puberty (old enough), not sick.

Then, the condition is healthy and fresh, not in a state of traveler (long journey), not being unable to do so, but they deliberately abandon fasting, ignore other obligatory acts of worship and even commit great immorality, in this blessed month.

As a result, they miss a golden opportunity to receive mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance from the fires of hell. Yet, the month of Ramadan is a golden opportunity for every believer, as during this month, Allah SWT opens the gates of Paradise wide and closes the gates of Hell as tightly as possible.

A hadith tells of the angel Gabriel praying (and confirmed by Rasulullah SAW): "“Woe to the person who meets the month of Ramadan, but until Ramadhan is over, his sins are not forgiven by Allah SWT."”

Why is this? Because he neglects and fails to utilize the glory of the holy month of Ramadan to improve himself, improve his worship, and seek forgiveness for his sins.

Ma'asyiral Muslimin Rahimakumullah..

Thus, this is the short sermon we can deliver. May we be included in the first group, namely the fortunate ones who emerge from the holy month of Ramadan with a degree. muttaqun namely people who are pious and steadfastness in piety. Amen, Amen, yeah Lord of the worlds
