Friday congregation who are blessed by Allah SWT
There was an interesting sight we saw at the start of school yesterday. Parents at every level of education accompanied their children to school on the first day. Seeing mothers escorting their children might be a common sight.
But, on that day, fathers and husbands were no less enthusiastic. The government even initiated a movement called Fathers Take Their Children to School Movement. A government initiative that encourages fathers to spend time with their children on the first day of the new school year.
The goal is to strengthen emotional bonds and provide mental support so that children are more confident.
Fathers have a role and responsibility in instilling character education in their children. Indeed, children are the most beautiful gift God has bestowed upon us.
They are the light that illuminates their parents' lives; a source of hope, happiness, and strength. At the same time, they are a great trust that must be guarded, cared for, and directed toward an education that instills noble values.
Allah SWT said in Al-Qur'an Surah An Nisa verse 11:
يُوصِيكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي أَوْلَادِكُمْ
“"Allah has entrusted you with (the affairs of) your children."” (QS. Surah An-Nisa': 11)
Children are a gift from God who will one day be held accountable. They can be an investment in the afterlife for their parents—through the constant prayers of pious children, through the good deeds born of their parents' guidance, and through the noble morals that develop from a proper upbringing.
Friday congregation who are blessed by Allah
The people most responsible for a child's growth and development—both his mind, soul and morals—are his parents. Rasulullah saw said:
«كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ عَلَى الفِطْرَةِ، فَأَبَوَاهُ »
“"Every child is born in a state of nature. So it is the parents who make him a Jew, Christian or Magian."” —((HR. Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
This hadith demonstrates the significant role parents—especially the father as the head of the household—play in shaping a child's character, behavior, and even their faith. Children are born pure, clean, and upright in nature; and it is the parents who determine the direction of that growth.
Allah SWT reminds:
“"O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from the fire of hell."” [QS. Surah At-Tahrim: 6]
Dear parents, we bear a great responsibility in educating and forming the character of our children. We instill it in them creed the straight one; teach love for Allah, love for the Messenger of Allah, as well as love for friends and pious people and scholars who follow their guidance.
With education like this, God willing They will grow up as a pious generation that is beneficial to the community and a source of pride for their parents.

Imam Al-Ghazali emphasized the role of parents in educating their children. “"Children are a trust in the hands of their parents. Their holy days are pearls that still need to be formed. If he is accustomed to and taught with kindness, he will grow up with that kindness.
Then, Abul Hasan An-Nadawi also said, The current era is an era of ideological war (ghazwul fikri) or a war of ideas. In this day and age, parents need to play a vital role in providing the best education for our children. In this era, parents must truly pay attention to their children's education.
Among the greatest responsibilities of parents is to accustom their children to good deeds that are pleasing to Allah. One of these practices is establishing prayer from an early age. Allah SWT says:
“"Order your family to perform prayers, and be patient in carrying them out."” (QS. Surah Taha: 132)
This verse is not only a command, but also a message of patience—that teaching children to pray requires example, sincerity, and continuity. Take them to Friday prayers with guidance to ensure orderliness, take them to the prayer place, and then pray for them afterward.
So, one of the biggest reasons for success in educating children—and even the main foundation—is asking for help from Allah through prayer.
Therefore, parents should pay full attention in praying for their children, be serious about it, and continue to repeat their prayers with full hope to Allah.
Look at the prayer offered by Prophet Ibrahim:
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
It means:
“"O my Lord, make me and my descendants people who continue to pray. O our Lord, please accept my prayer."” (QS. Ibrahim verse 40)
Honored Friday congregation,
Thus, the father's role is truly enormous in guiding, instilling morals, and forming the character of his children. The family is the first madrasa, and the father is the leader who will be held responsible for the direction of that education.
So let us guard this trust as best we can, because the most valuable legacy a father can give to his child is noble morals and proper education.
May we be parents who are loving, wise in guiding, and firm in upholding the truth in our family.
May Allah protect our children, broaden their hearts with faith, adorn their morals with goodness, and make them a delight for us in this world and the hereafter. Amen, Allah.
may Allah bless him and give him peace
