Narrated from Tirmidhi and Hakim. At one time Rasulullah SAW prayed to Allah SWT. It can be seen that he is very special in praying.
The Prophet prayed to Allah and asked for three things:
God willing God bless you تُبَلِّغُنَابِهِ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing مَصَائِبَ الدُّنْيَا.
"O Allah, grant us fear of You, which can stand between us and acts of disobedience to You, and (grant us) obedience to You which will convey us to Your heaven and (give us also) confidence which will make light of all the calamities of this world for us. (HR. Tirmidhi and Ibn Hakim).
We may be familiar with the prayer offered by the Prophet Muhammad. And some Muslims have also memorized this prayer well. What a big lesson we can take from the prayer read by the Prophet Muhammad. As Muslims who love the Prophet Muhammad, let us try to understand the wisdom and lessons contained in this prayer.
First, fear of Allah
A Muslim with strong faith is one who is always careful about his actions. He always feels that Allah sees everything he does. Everything he does, hears, sees, and thinks always involves Allah SWT. He will feel how close Allah's watchful eye is. Therefore, with Allah SWT's watchful eye, he will feel afraid to disobey Him.
Remember the story of a milkmaid during the reign of Umar ibn al-Khattab? It's about a little girl who lived with her mother in a corner of Medina. They lived in very simple circumstances. They could only support their family's needs by selling milk. But one day, a trial befell them. In the market, they discovered someone selling milk at a lower price than they were selling. It turned out the sellers had mixed the milk with water. Oh my God.
Because buyers preferred to buy cheap milk, in the end the girl's and her mother's milk did not sell on the market. One morning before trading, his mother said, how about we just mix this milk with water, my son. Loudly and politely the girl said to her mother. O mother, indeed Allah sees us. I am afraid of Allah, because this will make us bear sin and His torment.
This story teaches us that once fear is attached to the hearts of believers, they will be afraid of committing disobedience to Allah SWT. Good when he is alone, especially in a crowd.
The two senses of obedience to Allah
A Muslim will live in goodness, as long as he obeys Allah SWT. His heart and soul will always be submissive and try to be a Muslim who remembers his obligations to Allah SWT. Muslims who obey Allah will always try to fulfill their obligations to Allah. Even though he is a farmer, trader, sweeper, vegetable seller, motorbike taxi driver, teacher, student and others. Everyone will carry out their obligations if they truly obey Allah. Because he is aware that if a Muslim is obedient then he will get a reward from his obedience.
Do you remember the story from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about a wife whose husband forbade her from leaving the house until he returned from war? Then, one day, her mother fell ill, and a friend called her to visit her dying mother. Despite being called several times, she still refused to go because her husband had ordered her not to leave the house.
Finally, friends and many people were angry because of the woman's behavior. Until her mother died, the woman still did not go to see her mother. Seeing this, the friends finally reported this to the Prophet Muhammad. Finally, after hearing the friend's explanation, Rasululah said that the woman was in Heaven, because she obeyed her husband.
Third, a sense of belief in Allah
Believing in Allah SWT regarding His promise of Paradise is the key to overcoming the heavy burden we carry in this world. Without faith in Allah SWT, everything we do is difficult. When this faith is firmly rooted in the hearts of Muslims, there will be no feeling of laziness, tiredness, fatigue, or boredom in worship. Why? Because they are confident that all their deeds will be rewarded equally by Allah SWT.
Lack of faith in God's promises is a scourge among Muslims today. Some people give 2,000 rupiah in charity, even though they have 10,000 rupiah in their pockets and wallets. This indicates they lack confidence in the reward they will receive. If we still doubt something as small as this, let alone something bigger.
If faith is firmly embedded in the hearts and souls of Muslims, confident in the rewards and rewards promised by Allah, confident that all forms of acts of worship and goodness will definitely be rewarded with His heaven which is as wide as the heavens and the earth, of course we as Muslims will never give up in doing good deeds and worshiping Allah.
With this belief, Muslims will feel light and unburdened in obeying Allah, even in times of hardship, suffering, calamity, and so on. Everything is a test that will be met with an equal reward.
Hopefully these three messages from the Prophet Muhammad will increase our faith, confidence, fear and obedience to Allah SWT. and become strong Muslims in all the trials that face us. Amen
