Village GenRe Literacy: Lotim Youth Invited to Understand the GenRe Triad

Ijobalit, August 31, 2025._ Rohadi's name was included as a finalist for the NTB GenRe Ambassador. Rohadi's selection as one of the top 10 finalists for the 2025 NTB GenRe Ambassador immediately initiated the "Village GenRe Literacy: Time for Teenagers to Understand the GenRe Triad" activity which took place at the Lembah Hijau Library, East Lombok.

This event featured a single resource person, Rohadi (GenRe Ambassador for Putra Lombok Timur 2025) who shared insights on the importance of understanding the GenRe Triad (Child Marriage, Premarital Sex, and Drugs).

With the theme "It's Time for Teenagers to Understand the Triad Genre (Child Marriage, Free Sex, Drugs), Ready to Make Dreams Come True", this activity targets teenagers aged 10-24 years so that they are able to:

First, increasing adolescent literacy about the dangers of child marriage, premarital sex, and drug abuse.

Second, raising awareness among the younger generation to plan the future intelligently.

Third, encouraging the birth of teenagers who have character, are competitive, and are ready to realize their dreams.

Rohadi emphasized that adolescent literacy is not only about reading, but also about understanding social realities and having the courage to make the best decisions for the future.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) for 2024, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province ranked first in child marriage rates, with 14,961 TP3T. This figure is alarm It is serious that NTB youth are still very vulnerable to facing problems in the GenRe Triad, especially child marriage.

Rohadi believes the data is not just numbers, but a real challenge that must be faced together. "Teenagers in West Nusa Tenggara, especially in East Lombok, must become agents of change. We must no longer consider child marriage, premarital sex, or drug abuse normal. These are serious issues that could damage the future," he stressed.

The event was attended by dozens of teenagers from various villages and communities. The discussion was interactive, with many participants actively asking questions, sharing experiences, and expressing their opinions. Participants reported gaining many new insights into how to plan a healthier, more productive, and more purposeful life.

One participant said the activity opened their eyes to dangers they had previously considered trivial. "We learned why planning for the future is important, and why marrying at a young age can have negative health and financial consequences," said one of the teenage participants.

Rohadi hopes that the Village GenRe Literacy program can be the first step in establishing a GenRe-aware youth movement in East Lombok. With good literacy, youth are expected to be able to resist negative influences, gain confidence in pursuing education, and dare to dream big.

Furthermore, this activity also demonstrates the NTB GenRe Ambassador finalists' concrete contribution to bringing about change at the grassroots level. Rohadi emphasized that every teenager has the right to a bright future, free from child marriage, premarital sex, and the dangers of drugs.

ā€œ"GenRe is not just a program, but a movement for change. Teenagers must be aware, understand, and have the courage to take smart steps. The future of NTB is in our hands, and the younger generation is the key," concluded Rohadi.

With activities like this, it is hoped that more and more East Lombok youth will not only understand the GenRe Triad, but also be able to become pioneers in creating a healthy, safe environment that supports the achievement of the dreams of the younger generation.

And Allah knows bestââb
