Here's How to Prove Your Love for the Prophet

Loving the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him It is the duty of every Muslim who professes faith in Allah and the Last Day. Some Muslims express their love for the Prophet Muhammad. Peace be upon him by commemorating his birthday every year. Scholars have different opinions regarding the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday. Peace be upon him;

Pfirst, if the warning is accompanied by things that are prohibited in Islamic law, as is understanding which violates the Shari'a or there is a music concert that is prohibited in the Shari'a. For this type of warning, all scholars agree that it is forbidden[1].

Kboth, if the warning is not accompanied by prohibited things as previously mentioned, but only contains poems of praise that do not go beyond the limits of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him, or it contains a remembrance and discussion session sirah Prophet. For commemorations of the Prophet's birthday like this, most scholars allow it and quite a few domakruhhis[2].

The scholars who allow it include: Al-Imam Abu Syamah, teacher of Imam Nawawi, Al-Imam Al-Hafiz Al-Iraqi, Al-Imam Ibnu Katsir, Al-Imam Ibnu Hajar Al-'Asqalani, Al-Imam Ibnu Al-Jazari, Al-Imam As-Suyuthi, Al-Imam Ibnul Jauzi and many other scholars.[3]. As for the scholars who forbid ormakruhincluding: Al-Imam Taqiyuddin Ibn Taymiyah, Al-Imam Al-Faqihi Al-Asy'ari, Al-Imam Ibnul Haj Al-Maliki[4], as well as other scholars, especially from among the scholars of Najd.

The scholars mentioned above, may Allah have mercy on them, all have their own arguments and support. The author himself is more inclined to the opinion that allows commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday Peace be upon him while still respecting the opinions of scholars who forbid it.

However, for those who believe that it is permissible, know that love is not merely a confession, nor is it merely a ceremony; love needs to be proven. Ibn Al-Mubarak said:

God willing
لو كان حبك صادقا لأطعته إن المحب لمن يحب مطيع

You disobey God

Then you claim to love Him?

By my life, what a confession you make

In the eyes of reason it is very strange

If you truly love Him

Surely you obey Him

Because lovers always obey their loved ones[5]

These words show that love is not enough just to be acknowledged but needs to be proven, and the greatest proof of love is obey the beloved.

So every Muslim who claims to love the Prophet, who states that he carries out the Maulid "ceremony" out of love for the Prophet, but he never obeys and submits to the rules and teachings of the Prophet, then in reality his confession of love is just a confession of lies -I seek refuge in Allah-.

Prove your love by keeping your prayers!

Prove your love by reciting the Quran!

Prove your love by protecting your tongue from rude and cruel remarks!

Prove your love by supporting and helping your Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza (Palestine)

Prove your love by staying away usury!

Prove your love by staying away gambling!

Prove your love by being submissive and obedient, and loyal to always follow him.

With this proof, hopefully we will be among those who will receive it in the future. intercession He, the Messenger of Allah Peace be upon him .

And Allah knows best
