HikmahIlmu

This is how scholars explain the law of praying without clothes.

Prayer is a very noble act of worship. Several conditions must be met for this act to be valid. One of these is covering one's private parts. Scholars agree that anyone who prays while their private parts are uncovered is invalid.

A man's aurat is what lies between the navel and the knees. The question is, is the prayer of someone who prays without clothes, only wearing a cloth covering the body from the navel down, valid? Scholars differ on this matter:

First opinion, According to Imam Ahmad, praying without wearing clothes and only covering the lower body is haram, this is because of the words of the Prophet Muhammad May Allah bless him and grant him peace:

on

ā€œNone of you should pray wearing a single garment without wearing any garment on his shoulders.ā€ (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

Based on hadith Based on this, Imam Ahmad is of the opinion that it is haram for someone to pray without wearing clothes, and if he still does so, he is sinning. However, is his prayer valid or not?

There are two historical opinions from him, history First said that he thought his prayers were still valid and the history second said that he thought his prayer was invalid.

Second opinion, According to Imam Malik, Abu Hanifah, and Imam Syafii, the prohibition from the Prophet in the hadith mentioned previously is in the nature of makruh tanzih, meaning that it is our manners towards Allah and a person should not pray without wearing clothes.

But if he doesn't wear clothes then he has done the wrong thing makruhright, and the prayer is still valid. The majority of scholars are of the opinion makruh because there is another story where Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said:

God bless you ŁŁ„ŁŠŲŖŁŽŁ‘Ų²Ų±Ł’ به

"If anyone among you has two cloths, he should use both for prayer; if he has nothing but one cloth, then he should wear it as a sarong." (Narrated by Abu Daud)

Based on this hadith, the majority of scholars are of the opinion that covering the upper body during prayer is sunnah and is part of good manners when facing Allah, and if someone does not do it, their prayer is still valid but they have violated their good manners towards Allah and have done something that is wrong. makruh.

And God knows best bish shawab
