There are many types of sunnah worship whose rewards multiply in the month of Ramadan. Following are some sunnah practices that Muslims usually forget when fasting during the month of Ramadan. Hopefully we will be able to practice these sunnah deeds.
Sunnah to Eat Sahur during Fasting
Suhoor is a Sunnah practice that is often overlooked, even though it plays a crucial role in fasting. Literally, suhoor is eating and drinking before dawn, marking the beginning of the fast, which lasts from dawn until sunset.
From a health perspective, sahur can help maintain stable blood sugar levels, provide sufficient energy, and maintain the body's metabolism. By consuming nutritious foods during sahur, a person can optimize their stamina and strength to endure a full day of fasting.
Furthermore, sahur also has a significant spiritual dimension. It is a blessed time during which Muslims can pray and reflect on their intentions and goals for fasting. In the hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. God bless you
"Sahur is a food full of blessings. Therefore, do not abandon it even if you just drink a sip of water. Because indeed Allah and the angels give blessings to those who eat sahur.” (Narrated by Ahmad) This statement shows how important sahur is not only from a physical perspective, but also in non-physical training.
"Whoever wants to fast, let him fast.” (Narrated by Ahmad)
The Prophet Muhammad SAW ordered his people to eat sahur, because in sahur there are blessings. From Anas bin Malik may Allah be pleased with him, Rasulullah May Allah bless him and grant him peace said,
"Eat sahur because indeed in sahur there is blessing.” (HR. Bukhari No. 1923 and Muslim No. 1095).
Imam an-Nawawi once said, "Because by eating sahur you will be stronger in carrying out the fast."
Eating sahur is also the difference between Muslim fasting and Jewish fasting.Christian (people of the book). From Amr bin 'Ash may Allah be pleased with him, Rasulullah SAW said,
God willing
"The difference between our fasting (Muslims) and the fasting of the people of the book lies in eating sahur.. (HR. Muslim No. 1096).
To make sahur more meaningful and in accordance with the Sunnah, several tips can be applied. First, choose foods rich in fiber and protein such as oatmeal, eggs and fruit. This will help make you feel full longer and maintain energy. Second, Make sure to avoid consuming high-fat foods that can make your stomach feel heavy.
Third, It is highly recommended to have sahur with family, as this togetherness can add warmth and increase motivation during fasting. Thus, sahur can be a valuable moment to gain rewards and build a strong family. peaceful and loving And full of God's grace.
Sunnah of Breaking the Fast with Dates
Breaking the fast is a moment eagerly awaited by every Muslim after a day of abstaining from hunger and thirst. One of the recommended Sunnah traditions is breaking the fast with dates. In numerous hadiths, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recommends breaking the fast with dates before consuming any other food. This demonstrates the importance of dates in the tradition of breaking the fast, and choosing them as the first meal has several spiritual and health considerations.
God bless you God bless you
It means "The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu'alahi wassalam broke his fast with some Ruthob (Ripe dates but still wet) before performing the prayer, if there are no Ruthob then with some Tamr (dry ripe dates), if there were none then he drank a few sips of water." (HR. Abu Dawud No. 2356, At-Tirmidhi No. 696)
Dates are a good source of energy because they contain simple carbohydrates, such as glucose, fructose, and sucrose. When someone breaks their fast, blood sugar levels tend to be low after hours of not eating. Consuming dates can quickly restore energy and help the body function properly. Furthermore, dates are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which contribute to digestive health and maintain electrolyte balance in the body.
Overall, dates have numerous health benefits, including improving heart health, supporting brain health, and possessing anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, breaking the fast with dates is not only a sunnah practice but also a smart choice for maintaining good health. In practice, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also recommended drinking water after breaking the fast with dates.
Besides the health benefits, breaking the fast with dates can begin with a prayer. There are several prayers that can be recited before breaking the fast, including: “Allahumma inni as'aluka birahmatika allati wasi'at kulla shay'in” which means “O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy which encompasses all things.”
Increase Prayers in the Month of Ramadan
In this blessed month, Allah SWT gives each of His servants the opportunity to increase their worship, including prayer. Prayer plays a crucial role, as it is a form of direct communication between a servant and the Creator. By increasing our prayers, we not only ask for the necessities of life but also express our gratitude for all the blessings we have received.

Second, People who fast when breaking their fast. Third, Prayer of a person who is travel (traveler)." [HR. al-Baihaqi 3/345 and others).
Prayers offered at these times are believed to be more easily accepted. In addition, midnight, especially at one third of the night Lastly, is a very good time to pray. At that time, Allah SWT descended to the heavens of the world and gave His grace to His praying servants.
