اَلْـمُؤْمِنُ الْقَـوِيُِ God willing
"A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer; and in both there is goodness"
(Saheeh Hadith. Muslim History No. 2664)

The month of Sha'ban will soon be upon us. This means that a distinguished guest and a noble month will soon arrive. That distinguished guest is the month of Ramadan. May the month of Ramadhan be blessed. To maximize your preparations for welcoming this distinguished guest, here are some preparations to maximize your Ramadan worship.

Building Intention and Motivation to Worship

God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّةِ وَلِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى

From Umar May Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah May Allah bless him and grant him peace said, "Charity depends on intention, and a person only gets what he intends. (HR. Bukhari, Muslim, and four Hadith Expert Imams)

Intention is the most important aspect of every act of worship, especially fasting. A believer is advised to pay attention to their intention before fasting. Therefore, it is recommended to recite the intention to fast at night. intention Ramadan fasting, the intention to fast must be done at night, starting after Maghrib or after prayer Isha' followed by prayer tarawih. If it is done outside of that time, the intention is invalid and automatically the fast is also invalid.

This is in accordance with the hadith narrated by Imam ad-Daru Quthni (21/400):

مَنْ لَمْ يُبَيِّتْ الصِّيَامَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ فَلَا صِيَامَ لَهُ

"Whoever does not intend to fast before dawn, then there is no fasting for him."

The benefit of this hadith is that the intention to fast during Ramadan should be repeated every night. This is because each day of fasting is a separate fast. This is the opinion of Abu Hanifah, Shafi'i, and Imam Ahmad.

Even though opinions differ, it is given by Imam Malik to allow the intention of fasting Ramadhan for 1 (one) full month. Seeing the importance of intention, so that it is paid attention to by a believer. So if someone sleeps after 'Asr and only wakes up after sunrise dawn dawn the next day, then his fast is invalid because he did not have the intention at night.

Furthermore, this hadith shows that fasting in Ramadan must be done with intention, just like other acts of worship. As Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said:

may Allah bless him and give him peace God bless you وَالْحَجِّ لَا God bless you

"The scholars agree (consensus) "That worship which is directly intended for the substance of worship itself, such as prayer, fasting and pilgrimage, must be done with intention." (Majmu' Al Fatawa, 18: 257)..

Fasting during Ramadan is a crucial form of worship for Muslims. Besides the physical preparation required, a crucial element in welcoming Ramadan is developing the intention and motivation to worship.

Sincere intentions and strong motivation are the primary driving forces behind performing various forms of worship to the fullest. This includes not only fasting but also prayer, reading the Quran, and performing other good deeds.

It's important for every individual to understand the meaning and purpose of fasting. Fasting isn't just about abstaining from food and drink; it's also a process of spiritual cleansing and self-control. By understanding the essence of fasting, one can more easily develop a strong intention.

One way to renew your intentions is through self-reflection. Reflect on the goals of worship you hope to achieve during this holy month, and remind yourself of the importance of cultivating a close relationship with Allah SWT.

By building strong intentions and motivation, it is hoped that everyone can live the month of Ramadan with full sincerity, so that the worship they perform becomes more meaningful and has a positive impact on their daily lives.

Physical Preparation for Ramadan

As Ramadan approaches, it's crucial to prepare yourself physically to fully experience the fast. A fit body plays a crucial role in maintaining daily routines during this holy month. One of the best ways to support your health is through a healthy diet. Paying attention to your nutritional intake and choosing foods that contain balanced nutrition is highly recommended. Consuming vegetables, fruits, protein, and complex carbohydrates helps maintain energy and endurance.

Additionally, it's important to pay attention to your meal schedule. Creating a meal plan before and after fasting can help your body adapt. Avoid foods high in sugar and fat, which can cause fatigue during fasting. Instead, focus on foods that provide gradual energy, such as whole grains and nuts. Don't forget to drink plenty of water during suhoor and iftar to avoid dehydration.

Physical activity also plays a key role in maintaining fitness before Ramadan. Light exercise, such as walking and cycling, can help increase stamina without exhausting the body. Regular exercise, at least three to four times a week, is very helpful in maintaining heart health and improving blood circulation. It also has psychological benefits, such as reducing stress and anxiety during the fasting month.

Adopting other good habits, such as getting enough sleep and reducing stress, will support overall physical readiness. With all this preparation, it is hoped that individuals will be able to experience Ramadan in optimal physical condition, allowing them to fast more calmly and effectively.

Maintaining Peace of Mind

As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadan, it is important to maintain a calm mind so that worship can be carried out optimally. One effective way to achieve this is through relaxation techniques. Meditation or deep breathing exercises can help reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. By calming the mind, one can better focus on preparing for worship and improving one's spiritual well-being during the holy month.

Furthermore, adopting a positive mindset can significantly contribute to maintaining inner peace. Thinking positively about various situations can provide mental safety when challenges arise. Remembering the noble intention of Ramadan, which is to increase worship and self-improvement, also encourages positive thoughts that strengthen one's spirit during the fast.

It's also important to reduce sources of stress in your daily life. This can be done by practicing good time management, such as systematically planning activities to avoid being overwhelmed by piling up tasks. Avoiding exposure to negative news can also help maintain peace of mind. Excessive consumption of disturbing information can increase anxiety and reduce focus on worship.

By implementing relaxation techniques, maintaining a positive mindset, and reducing stress, one can create a calm inner state. This is a prerequisite for performing worship devoutly and optimally. Given the importance of mental well-being during Ramadan, maintaining a calm mind should be a priority for everyone who wants to make the most of this blessed month.

Maximizing Worship During Ramadan

Ramadan is a blessed time, during which Muslims are encouraged to increase their worship and draw closer to Allah. To maximize our worship during this holy month, it's important to plan and manage our time wisely. One way to do this is by establishing a daily schedule that includes dedicated time for prayer, reading the Quran, giving alms, maintaining relationships, and so on.

The five daily prayers are the main act of worship that should not be neglected. During Ramadan, we are also encouraged to perform tarawih prayers, which are sunnah prayers performed after the Isha prayer. Attending tarawih together with the congregation at the mosque can provide added enthusiasm for worship. So that worship is not disturbed, allocate sufficient time before and after prayer for prayer and reflection.

Besides prayer, reading the Quran is a highly recommended act of worship during Ramadan. Setting a daily goal to complete the Quran can help us stay focused and consistent. For example, completing one juz (chapter) each day during Ramadan will help us complete the Quran by the end of the month. When reading the Quran, it is important to understand and reflect on its meaning to deepen our worship.

Charity is also crucial during this holy month. Take the time to participate in social activities or donate, whether in the form of money, food, or daily necessities. By prioritizing these acts of worship and managing your time wisely, the quality of your worship during Ramadan will improve.

May our preparations for Ramadan be the best possible. This will enable us to make the most of our Ramadan. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.

And Allah knows best
