Mindset is Shaped by Reading: Ahmad Deedat's Advice on Mentality and Habits

In his spectacular debate with Jimmy Swaggart, entitled “Is The Bible God's Word?” which took place at the University of Louisiana in 1986 in the United States, Sheikh Ahmad Deedad presented the results of research conducted by an American psychologist, Dr. Vernon Jhones, to find out the mental influence of children on things that children read, see and do, which have a great influence on the mentality of the child.

Sheikh Ahmad Deedad said; An American psychologist of great reputation; he carried out experiments on groups of school children to whom certain stories were being read. And he said, “These stories make certain slight but permanent changes in character, even in the narrow classroom situation.” The type of stories that you read, the things that they see that are the type of mentality they are going to have.

The free translation is; an American psychologist (Dr. Vernom Jhones) conducted an experiment on a group of students by reading them stories, and he said "The stories read to these students will change their character, even in a confined space." The type of reading material that is read, something that is seen will influence the mental growth of the student.

Finally, Ahmad Deedad added: "That's the type of food you eat, you eat junky food you become junky. You read junky stuff, your mind becomes junky."

"If you eat junk food, your body will also be like junk, and if you read things that are of low quality, your brain will also be of low quality." The thunderous applause of the audience filled the debate hall.

The important message Sheikh Ahmad Deedad wanted to convey was that the habits you adopt will significantly impact your life. If someone is drawn to negative things, the results will also negatively impact their life.

Conversely, if someone habitually does quality work, the results will elevate them to a higher level. The good or bad of an action is a reflection of one's habits. Habit is power! These are the conclusions of the research.

A person's mind is built from habit (habit) What is done. Parents who consistently educate their children with good habits will foster a positive mental attitude. Conversely, parents who neglect their children's education tend to neglect both their children's mental and behavioral development.

Hope it is useful.
