Opinions of Ulama about the 27th Night of Ramadan

Ramadan is drawing to a close, and every sane Muslim will make the most of this opportunity. At the end of Ramadan, there is a very sacred night, the night of Judgment.Laylat al-Qadr. Laylat al-Qadr It is a very noble night, the night the Qur'an was revealed. According to the majority of scholars, this night is a special night that Allah has only given to the people of the Prophet Muhammad. May Allah bless him and grant him peace and did not exist in previous peoples[1] [2].

Allah says in the Qur'an that this night is better than 1000 months. According to Al-Imam An-Nakha'i, what is meant is that whoever worships on this night is better than 1000 months. Laylat al-Qadr, then his worship on that night is more noble than worship for 1000 months.[3].

Masyaallah, it is truly a rare opportunity that we should not let pass us by, because this night is so noble. Therefore, scholars of the next generation... salaf has been trying to get glory tonight, by looking for what night Laylat al-Qadr This will happen. Of course, there are many opinions among scholars regarding when Laylat al-Qadr happened, and between the nights that were considered strong happened Laylat al-Qadr is the night of27 Ramadan.

Some of the Prophet's companions emphasized that Laylat al-Qadr happened on the 27th night of Ramadan, including Ubay bin Ka'ab, Umar, and Hudzaifah[4]. In fact, it was narrated from Ubay bin Ka'ab May Allah be pleased with him that he said:

الله إني لأعلم أي ليلة هي، هي الليلة التي أمرنا رسول الله بقيامها، هي ليلة سبع وعشرين

"By Allah, I know on which night it (lailatul qadar) occurs, indeed it occurs on the night that the Messenger of Allah ordered us to perform qiyamul lail, namely the 27th night."[5].

This is the statement from Ubay bin Ka'ab, and there are many narrations from other companions of the Prophet such as Ibn Abbas, Mu'awiyah, and Ibn Mas'ud, which indicate that the 27th night of Ramadan is a very likely night. Laylat al-Qadr happen. Remembering, there are so many narrations from friends that Al-Imam Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali strengthens this opinion, as in his book lata'iful ma'arif.

The practice that we can do tonight is, multiply night prayers, reading the Koran, doing dhikr and praying the prayers that the Prophet taught Aisyah Radiyallahu 'anha. Prophet May Allah bless him and grant him peace said:

من قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه

"Whoever performs qiyamullail on the night of Laylatul Qadar with full faith and hope in Allah, his past sins are forgiven."[6].

This practice can be done by both people i'tikaf at the mosque or at home.

Apart from that, it is also recommended to wear nice clothes, wear perfume and bathe cleanly, as Ibn Rajab said:

فتبين بهذا أنه يستحب في الليالي التي ترجى فيها ليلة القدر God bless you في الجمع والأعياد

“…….Based on this, on every night when it is hoped that Laylatul Qadr will occur, every Muslim is advised to clean themselves and beautify themselves by bathing, using perfume, and wearing nice clothes, as is done on every Friday and Eid."[7].

May Allah make it easy for us to get the glory of the night Laylat al-Qadr, and may Allah forgive all our sins. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds

And God knows best bi as-Shawab
