As Muslims, we should be very happy if there are infidels from Christianity, Judaism, and other religions who want to convert to Islam.
However, it often happens in real life when people from other religions want to convert to Islam and convey their intentions to people they trust from among Muslims.
In fact, it is the Muslims who often postpone it, sometimes with the excuse that they cannot, some order "learn more about Islam before converting to Islam", some even say "try to think about it again".
This is truly sad, because this is contrary to the teachings of Islam. The truth is, if this happens to you, there is a non-Muslim who wants to convert to Islam and declares his intention to you, then immediately guide him to say the prayer. shahada.
Only then, if he really needs to take care of citizenship documents, help him, or provide him with references so he can study Islam. The important thing is that he has converted to Islam and you have released him from his responsibilities.disbeliefwhich is the biggest sin against Allah.
Al-Imam An-Nawawi said in his book Al-Majmu':
may Allah bless him and give him peace of mind يُؤَخِّرْهُ لِلِاغْتِسَالِ بَلْ تَجِبُ الْمُبَادَرَةُ God bless you لِلِاغْتِسَالِ وَغَيْرِهِ
“"If there is an infidel who wants to convert to Islam, he should immediately guide him, it is obligatory for him to immediately guide him to convert to Islam and it is absolutely forbidden for him to delay it for any reason."”
Even Imam Nawawi quoted Imam Al Mawardi's very firm words:
God bless you مِنْهُ أَنْ يُلَقِّنَهُ الْإِسْلَامَ فَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ أَوْ أَشَارَ God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing
“"If a Muslim is willing to accept the disbelief of the infidels, for example when an infidel asks for guidance in reciting the shahada, then he actually asks him not to convert to Islam or even just postpones it without any excuse, then he is an apostate.".
Look, how firm the scholars are regarding this matter, that a Muslim should immediately lead the person in reciting the shahada if someone wants to recite the shahada from among Christians or others, and not delay it for any reason, because this delay is the same as agreeing that the person remains in disbelief.
Because this is so important, the scholars explain that if someone is praying and someone comes and asks to be guided in reciting the shahada, then he is obliged to cancel his prayer.
Al-Baijuri wrote in Hashiyah-his on the book Al-Iqna':
وَيَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ قَطْعُ الصَّلَاةِ إذَا كَانَ مُحْرِمًا God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. عَلَى God willing, God willing, God willing لِأَنَّ فِيهِ إنْقَاذًا مِنْ الْخُلُودِ فِي النَّارِ كَمَا God bless you
“"And it is obligatory for him to break his prayer if an infidel asks him to be guided in reciting the Shahada, this is likened to helping someone who is drowning, in fact guiding an infidel who wants to recite the Shahada is far more noble than helping a drowning person, because truly guiding him in reciting the Shahada is the same as helping him from the eternal torment of Hell."”
So to every Muslim, preacher, and mosque administrator, if this happens to you, immediately guide you to recite the shahada and never delay.
And Allah knows best
