Maasyiral Muslimin Rakhimakumullah...
Thank God, All praise be to Allah, Lord of the Universe, who has created the beautiful world we live in today. Nature, with all its riches, offers many benefits to humanity, the benefits of which can be felt in various ways.
It is fitting that, with all these pleasures, it has become an obligation for all human beings on this earth to protect nature as best as possible.
And of course we thank Allah for the blessings of various lives that are still given to us. So that on this occasion we can still worship Him, remember Him, and praise Him.
Praise belongs only to Allah. Thank God; All praise belongs to Allah alone. It is truly unbecoming for humans to expect praise, it is unbecoming for humans to feel they have done something good, because truly all praise belongs to Allah alone.
On this auspicious occasion, the preacher invited all attendees to re-realize the essence of human creation on this earth and to reflect on the concept of hablum minal 'alam namely the importance of maintaining good relations with the nature we visit.
The Muslim congregation of Friday prayers, may Allah have mercy on themā¦
In religious studies, we often focus solely on discussing rituals and worship practices, forgetting something equally important to discuss, namely the recommendation to maintain a good relationship with nature.
Issues concerning nature often receive little attention in religious discussions because they are still considered trivial matters. Yet, Islam not only requires Muslims to maintain a good relationship with Allah (hablum minallah) or good relations with fellow human beings (hablum minannas) but Islam also recommends the importance of maintaining good relations with nature (hablum minal 'alam).
The Muslim congregation of Friday prayers, may Allah have mercy on themā¦
Humans were created by God as caliphs on earth. This purpose of creation underlies the fundamental responsibility humans have not only for themselves but also for the natural world in which they live. As God says in QS. al-Baqarah verse 30 which reads,
ŁŁŲ§ŁŲ°Ł ŁŁŲ§ŁŁ Ų±ŁŲØŁŁŁŁ ŁŁŁŁŁ ŁŁŁ°Ū¤ŁŁŁŁŁŲ©Ł Ų§ŁŁŁŁŁŁ Ų¬ŁŲ§Ų¹ŁŁŁ ŁŁŁ God willing ŁŁŁŁŁŲ³ŁŲÆŁ ŁŁŁŁŁŁŲ§ ŁŁŁŁŲ³ŁŁŁŁŁ Ų§ŁŲÆŁŁŁ ŁŲ§Ū¤Ų”ŁŪ ŁŁŁŁŲŁŁŁ ŁŁŲ³ŁŲØŁŁŲŁ God bless you ŲŖŁŲ¹ŁŁŁŁ ŁŁŁŁŁ
Meaning: "(Remember) when your Lord said to the angels, "I will make a caliph on earth." They said, "Are You going to place someone there who will cause corruption and shed blood, while we praise You and sanctify Your name?" He said, "Indeed I know what you do not know."ā
From the verse above, we should realize that humans have the potential to cause damage on this earth. As is currently happening, the disasters occurring in our country are not solely due to God's will, but rather the result of human actions that have destroyed the natural ecosystem.
Humans engage in deforestation, such as land conversion into large-scale plantations, illegal logging, and deliberate forest fires. These activities ultimately result in significant negative impacts, including natural disasters.
Drought, biodiversity loss, disruption of the water cycle, and other negative impacts are all examples. However, humans are endowed with reason, enabling them to distinguish between right and wrong. Beyond this purpose of creation, Allah believes that humans are His creatures capable of best stewarding the natural world He has created.
The Muslim congregation of Friday prayers, may Allah have mercy on themā¦
Therefore, let us protect the earth on which we live and stand today. As part of our gratitude for the blessings God has bestowed, we must take the following actions:;
First, We need to remind our brothers and sisters of the importance of environmental issues in religious studies, to raise our awareness of the importance of preserving the natural world that God has created. Furthermore, current issues align with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' priority programs, as outlined in the Asta Protas of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
One of them is strengthening ecotheology. Strengthening ecotheology integrating religious values with environmental sustainability, encouraging awareness that protecting nature is part of worship.
Second, carrying out real actions through greening (tree planting), waste management, education in madrasas/Islamic boarding schools, innovation (forest endowments, eco-mosques), to green lifestyle campaigns with the aim of creating an environmentally conscious bureaucracy and society that is in line with Islamic teachings. ā"Rahmatan lil 'alamin"ā.
So the concept hablum minal 'alam namely, the recommendation to maintain a good relationship with nature really penetrates our hearts and souls. In fact, nature offers all the beauty and pleasure that we can feel up to this moment, therefore we must take care of it as well as possible. From nature back to nature.
The Muslim congregation of Friday prayers, may Allah have mercy on themā¦
We want the natural world we inhabit to be free from human misconduct. When nature is polluted, polluted, and degraded by human activity, the danger of disaster may approach and affect us. If we treat nature with kindness, nature will, in turn, reciprocate.
We must always remember, Allah SWT's warning in Al-Qur'an, in the letter Rum verse 41;
God bless you God bless you ŁŁŲ¹ŁŁŁŁŁŁŁ Ł ŁŁŲ±ŁŲ¬ŁŲ¹ŁŁŁŁ
It has been seen that damage on land and at sea is caused by the actions of human hands, so that Allah will make them feel part of (the consequences of) their actions, so that they will return (to the right path)."ā (QS. Rum verse 41)
This verse confirms that damage has appeared on land and at sea, in forests, mountains, rivers, lakes and so on, caused by the actions of arrogant human hands controlled by lust and far from the guidance of the natural goodness.
Allah desires that humans experience some of the consequences of their evil deeds. So that they may return to the right path, maintaining their behavior in accordance with their natural disposition. Human evil deeds will bring punishment, just as it befell generations before them.
This punishment will also come to people in the present and future if they engage in similar behavior. Therefore, let us return to the awareness of preserving nature, protecting the environment, and improving our relationships with God, with humanity, and with the natural world around us.
May Allah forgive all our sins and mistakes. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds
