My initial interaction with the novel 'Paragraphs of love' The work of Habiburrahman el-Shirazy (Kang Abik) around 2007. At that time I attended an invitation from a friend who was holding a wedding. marriage contract In Surabaya, specifically in Sidoarjo. It was a special joy, because my friend's family had asked me to witness her wedding to the love of her life. Many of my friend's family members came from Sumbawa. The atmosphere was lively, with family banter, and camaraderie—everyone was immersed in happiness.
I was also among those who felt the emotion. Perhaps because we had come from far away, from Sumbawa Island to Java, the feelings of happiness mixed together, forming a longing that enveloped the warmth and kinship. Because I felt my time in Surabaya was short, only three days, I took the initiative to make a pilgrimage to the tomb of Sunan Ampel at Jl. Ampel Blumbang No. 2A Semampir.
Crowded with pilgrims going in and out of the tomb. I took ablution water at the large reservoir in the area before entering the tomb. Crowds of visitors from all corners of the archipelago with families, teachers and relatives flocked to make pilgrimages to this tomb. After saying my prayer, I rushed out leaving the hustle and bustle of pilgrims
Outside the tomb, there were many bookstores lined up, ones I hadn't seen before. They were filled with yellow books in Arabic, and the sellers seemed to be from Arabia. The old books lined the wooden shelves, bound in thick volumes. original. Coupled with the atmosphere of shops decorated with knick-knacks handicraft (handicrafts).
Prayer beads and other handicrafts hung beautifully. A distinctive Arabian perfume filled the nostrils. kasturi, kiswah, black stone And raudhoh mixed together in one breath of freshness.
My sharp gaze fell on a bookstore, which displayed the titles of books in Indonesian. I approached the store, and right before my eyes was the title of the book (novel) 'When love glorifies God' Soul Building Novel. Mega best seller. That's what it says on the front cover.
Writing 'soul-building novel' The cover raises a big question mark. "Does it really exist?" What I know is that all novels are equally unsuitable for reading. They're trash. They're unsuitable for anyone, whether teenagers, adults, or even the elderly. Their content isn't educational, it's actually destructive!
That was my impression of the novel at the time. The connotation of the novel was indeed unpleasant to the ear. It was unpleasant to listen to and read. negative who does not educational. Therefore, I'm against reading novels, any novels. Essentially, novels are a bad virus for the world of reading and writing.
To be clearer, here are the reasons why I am against reading novels. Continued in part two.
