After knowing and understanding who should be worshipped, in the previous discussion which was the basis of knowledge, the next reason is knowing the obligations. sharia which has been ordered and must be carried out properly. That is, knowing the prohibitions that must be avoided.
Al-Ghazali reminded us, if this second action is ignored, then how will you carry out various forms of obedience? Meanwhile, you don't know what obedience is? What does it look like and what are the procedures for implementing it?
On the other hand, how is it possible to avoid disobedience, while you do not know that an action is a disobedience? So the question is; do you need to know what immorality is? So that you don't fall into it.
Therefore, according to al-Ghazali, worship sharia like cleansing (thaharah), prayer, fasting, and other rituals, one must understand the laws and requirements for performing them correctly. This is crucial to avoid negligence.
Because, perhaps you perform an act of worship (prayer, fasting, purification) but you do not carry out its laws, which could ruin that act of worship, without you even realizing it. And this is very dangerous.
Another example, if it happens abstruse (problem) and there is no one to ask for an opinion, while you have never studied it. Herein lies the essence of studying a thing (something) in its activity with the laws sharia.
Furthermore, al-Ghazali emphasized that the matter of external worship revolves around the axis of worship. spiritual which takes the form of heart activities that must be known. Such as, resignation, surrender, consent, Be patient, repentance, sincere, and so on.
Know what type of prohibition there is paradox (the opposite) of worship spiritual also need to be studied and known. For example; angry, daydreaming, showing off (show off) pride and arrogant. It's important to know this so you can avoid it.
Basically, these obligations are stated in the texts of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), both in the form of commands and prohibitions.
"And fear Allah, if you are truly believers" (Qs. Al-Maidah [5] verse 23)
“And give thanks to Allah, if you have true thoughts to Him you worship" (Qs. Al-Baqarah [2] verse 172).
"Be patient, and your patience is not only with the help of Allah" (Qs. An-Nahl [16] verse 127)
"And worship Him with perseverance" (Qs. Al-Muzammil [73] verse 8). The meaning is to sincerely worship Allah with complete sincerity.
And there are many other similar verses, as Allah has revealed texts sharia which contains the command to pray and fast. In fact, you neglect these matters spiritual Which obligatory don't even know it.
You are deceived! You are truly deceived by the fatwa of someone whose views have been influenced by the glitter of the world! So he dared to do something like that good, seen as something evil, in progress evil seen as something Ma'ruf!
Remember! Whoever belittles the knowledge contained in the Qur'an, while Allah has glorified these knowledges by calling them Nur (light), wisdom (wisdom) and Huda (guidance). Surely, those people will fall into forbidden things and will ultimately reap destruction!
The next discussion continues in part four….
