Cadre development is the lifeblood of an organization. Without a focused cadre development process, an organization will lose its identity and drive. The Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM), as an Islamic student movement, is certainly aware of this.
One form of real effort is implementation Darul Arqam Foundation (DAD) Such as that recently held by the Sumbawa IMM PC on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Muhammadiyah High School. This training demonstrates the IMM Sumbawa management's commitment to rejuvenating its cadre development.
With the theme "Enlightenment Movement for Cadres, Cultivation of Three Basic Competencies," this activity became the starting point for the birth of new cadres who are ready to carry out the mandate of enlightenment preaching.
DAD is not merely technical training or a ceremonial activity, but rather a gateway to developing the true identity of IMM cadres. IMM cadres must have a strong identity, especially in facing today's global challenges.
The message from the Chairman of the Sumbawa Branch of the Indonesian Muslim Student Association (IMM) is highly relevant to the challenges of our times. An IMM member is required to possess three distinctive characteristics: intellectual prowess, strong spiritual devotion, and genuine social concern.
These three basic competencies are not just slogans, but rather a solid foundation that will strengthen IMM's position as an Islamic student movement that plays a role in society.
Society must be aware of progress and change in all sectors, not confined to conservative communal perceptions. The role of IMM cadres is particularly crucial in this regard, in fostering a dignified society.
Furthermore, the support from the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership for this activity to be carried out regularly confirms that DAD must not stop at one moment. It must become a continuing tradition of cadre development, to ensure healthy regeneration and ensure the sustainability of the movement.
Amidst the currents of globalization, the rapid influence of digital technology, and diverse ideological challenges, IMM cadres are required to demonstrate moral strength, intellectual strength, and social awareness. The ideologies present in society require a deeper understanding.
If society does not understand globalization, progress, ideology and technology, it is feared that a gap in understanding will occur and give rise to new beliefs that are far from religion and belief.
The DAD is the perfect space to instill all of this from an early age. Therefore, maintaining consistent implementation and quality is a shared responsibility, one that will continue to be monitored and implemented by IMM cadres in Sumbawa.
Ultimately, DAD is not just a formal organizational agenda, but an endeavor to develop human resources. This is where cadres emerge who not only love IMM but are also ready to become beacons of enlightenment for the people and the nation.
