The Chancellor of Cordova University (UNDOVA), DR. KH. Lalu Zulkifli Muhadli, BA, SH, MM opened and released the participants of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) for the 2025/2026 academic year. The activity was held at the Baitusyukri Hall of the Al-Ikhlas Taliwang Islamic Boarding School. Also present at the event were Vice Chancellor I, KH. Amir Ma'ruf Husein, S.PdI. MM Vice Chancellor II, Rifki Fahmi, S.Kom, Vice Chancellor III, Junaidi Efendi, ST. MT and the head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Sofian Hadi, S.Pd.M.Ag.

The ranks of deans, heads of study programs and field supervisors (DPL) also attended a series of opening and farewell events for KKN, as a form of support and participation from each faculty and study program, for the smooth running of campus activities and programs, as the only university in West Sumbawa Regency.

In his remarks, the UNDOVA Chancellor emphasized the importance of the Four Pillars of Higher Education at Cordova University, one of which is community service, which is carried out by students in an interdisciplinary, institutional, and partnership manner. KKN activities for students aim to enrich their experiences when they later enter the community.

Community service is a mandatory program for both lecturers and students, aimed at enhancing empowerment and enhancing the campus's role in the realities of community life. The KKN experience is unique, as the theories and scientific concepts learned at the university level must be put into practice and applied within the community.

The Chancellor then reminded that there are 3 (three) important values in implementing KKN. First, have an impact on students. This means that the activity must provide positive value and impact for the students themselves, meaning that students must leave legacy which is good for his personality. Second, KKN activities must provide an impact on progress and benefits to the community. Third, KKN activities must have an impact on campus development and the progress of the Cordova University campus.

The theme of the 2025 Thematic KKN is quite interesting, namely "Developing Village Potential Based on Neighborhood Associations"This theme is considered very important because it is hoped that students will be able to become agents of change. (agent of change) which can encourage the capacity and role of Neighborhood Tukun as a center for community participation and empowerment.

The neighborhood-based approach is considered strategic because it directly touches the smallest segments of society and allows for accurate mapping of village potential development. Welfare, poverty, and emerging problems can be mapped at the neighborhood or community level. This also includes examining local potential and local wisdom. (local wisdom) at each KKN location.

The Chancellor reiterated that neighborhood-based development is the best way to identify the potential of targeted villages. Three key strengths of neighborhood-based development are identified. First, deliberation. Second, community participation at the RT level. Third, improve community services and empowerment.

Deliberations at the neighborhood unit (RT) level are considered crucial because they can resolve and identify problems that arise at the neighborhood, village, or sub-district level. Deliberations increase community participation and involvement in development projects such as mentoring, training, and other services. Furthermore, they improve basic community services, including education, health, and economic well-being.

Hopefully, the 2025/2026 academic year of the University of Cordova (UNDOVA) Community Service Program will run smoothly, safely, and receive the blessings of Allah SWT. Amîînyâ Lord of Charityîîn
