“"And We revealed (commanded) to Moses, "Go at night taking My servants (the Children of Israel), because you will surely be chased."“ (QS. Asy-Syu'araa': 52)
A secret rescue operation began in the darkness of night. Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) led an impossible mission: to bring thousands of the Children of Israel out of slavery under the strict control of Pharaoh in Egypt. Women carried unleavened dough, children clutched their parents' hands.
Hamka in his commentary records this moment, "So there was a night when the people of Egypt were lost in their splendor and the great people were immersed in pleasures that knew no tomorrow, under the leadership of Moses and Harun.
The Children of Israel had left Egypt, heading for the seashore of Qulzum, carrying everything they could. In fact, what can be carried, apart from belief in life, under the leadership of a hard-hearted leader, Moses. Assisted by his brother Harun." (Read HAMKA, Al-Azhar Interpretation, p. 5109)
Meanwhile, the sheep were hastily led away in a stealthy escape. However, Pharaoh's intelligence detected their escape. Immediately, 600 of Egypt's finest chariots, armed with carefully selected horses, were deployed in pursuit. (QS. Asy-Syu'ara': 52-53).
The situation turned into a crisis when they reached the shores of the Red Sea. The trap was perfect: the sea stretched out in front, and behind them, elite Egyptian troops approached, fully armed. Panic set in. "We're going to be overtaken!" shouted a man.
But Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) was no ordinary agent. With the composure of a trained special agent, he gazed at the sea with the confidence of intelligence. divine. “"“Never be overtaken; Verily, my Lord is with me, He will guide me,"” he whispered(QS. Asy-Syu'ara': 62). This is the time for this covert operation to request direct assistance from 'Supreme Headquarters'.
Just as Pharaoh's special forces were about to capture the last line, a divine communication connected: “"Strike the sea with your stick!"” (QS. Asy-Syu'ara': 63)
Moses Swings His Staff. BOOM!
The surging sea suddenly split in two like a high-precision military operation, each side towering like an impenetrable defensive wall. (QS. Asy-Syu'ara': 63). A large passageway formed on the seabed. With the command of the Israelites, they immediately crossed this makeshift corridor.
Hamka said, "Suddenly when we arrived in the middle of the ocean, the sea water that had been piled up earlier melted again. The reconnection of the two frozen blocks of water was so great that the brave men who didn't know themselves were small in the rolling water.
How awesome! They were fully clothed, armed, in armor, riding saddled horses, thousands under the leadership of Pharaoh himself sank to the bottom of the sea. And the sea was calm again, as if nothing had happened." (Verse 66). HAMKA, Al-Azhar Tafsis, p. 5110)
In the distance, Pharaoh watched from his command chariot. Despite seeing this strange occurrence, his arrogance led him to ignore all warning signs. “Follow them! We can definitely take control of this sea route too!”
Exactly, when all the special forces entered the sea corridor, while all the Children of Israel had already crossed suddenly...
The closure operation begins! Allah commands the sea to unite again. (QS. Asy-Syu'ara': 66). The towering wall of water collapsed, sweeping away the entire Egyptian elite army. The pharaoh, dressed in his golden robes, suddenly realized:
“I believe in the God of the Children of Israel!” he shouted.” (QS. Yunus: 90).
But it was too late. A massive wave swallowed his entire army, burying the arrogant ruler and his entire military force at the bottom of the sea forever.
Across the sea, the Children of Israel cheered. But Moses knew – his true mission had only just begun. Forty years of training in the desert awaited, with trials far more severe than simply crossing the sea…
Important lessons for all of us:
1. *Divine Intelligence never fails* – when humans say “impossible”, Allah says “I'm possible”.
2. *Arrogance is the enemy's greatest weakness* – Pharaoh had all the resources, but lacked humility.
3. *The greatest mission requires the greatest faith* – not advanced technology or the latest weapons, but faith is the ultimate weapon.
