West Sumbawa Regency (KSB) exactly 22 years old. To be precise, on November 20, 2025. The commemoration of the birth of KSB was held in front of the building Graha Fitrah at the Kemutar Telu Center (KTC). Various performances were staged as part of the anniversary celebrations. Several invited guests also attended to show their support, including the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara and prominent figures in the KSB struggle.
The ceremonial events were held with great fanfare. A variety of district-level events also graced the West Sumbawa Regency anniversary celebrations. All were held with great enthusiasm. The activities were enthusiastically received by the community. Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) were also actively involved in ensuring the success of each event.
In its 22nd year, West Sumbawa Regency continues to innovate and deliver positive services to improve the lives of its people. Even in the early days of West Sumbawa's founding, the word “Fitrah Regency” become tagline which continues to echo in the ears of the people of West Sumbawa. Interestingly, the word “Natural” is a phrase whose source is taken from the Qur'an.
Many questions arose about why the founder of West Sumbawa used the term "Regency Fitrah" (Regency Fitrah). What is the meaning and significance of "Regency Fitrah?" These are the questions people asked. It turns out that the word "Fitrah" is one of the key concepts taken from the Quran for building a glorious civilization.
According to Buya Hamka, humans are born in circumstances nature. Fitrah is a pure original feeling in your own soul that has not been influenced by other influences. Namely recognizing the existence of a supreme power that controls this nature. And Allah SWT has determined so.
This innate nature is potential. This means it can develop or stagnate, and the human soul is shaped by the environment. The first environment, as explained, is parental care. Belief in the existence of the Almighty is innate in the human soul and mind and cannot be replaced by anything else.[1]
As for the meaning nature according to Zakiah Daradjat is, nature Humans are a vessel or place that can be filled with skills and abilities that can develop according to their position and responsibilities as servants. khalîFah on the face of the earth.[2]
Therefore, it's no surprise that the term "Fitrah" is used as the slogan of West Sumbawa Regency, which maintains the importance of cleanliness, purity, and the dignity of those who manage the government system. They are people who are close to God.
Closeness to God will bring about one important concept, namely the concept “blessing” or barokah. The concept and meaning of 'blessing' according to scholars contains the meaning ZiâDatul Khaîr or the excess of goodness that continues to abound.
Therefore, a sound concept, if tagline Fitrah Regency for the people of West Sumbawa it is symbol A neat and strong label for running the government in West Sumbawa. In other words, whoever leads West Sumbawa must never forget to bow to God as a form of obedience and gratitude.
The important message that can be captured, since West Sumbawa was founded, is that all the people and all stakeholders, especially the local government, must work together, shoulder to shoulder, to build West Sumbawa into a... Fitrah Regency based on submission, obedience to Allah SWT.
Dr. KH. Then Zulkifli Muhadli, BA.SH.MM, As the first person to lay the foundation for West Sumbawa Regency, he truly wanted to build West Sumbawa under strong Islamic values. Kiayi Zul, with his background as a fighter, cleric, intellectual, Islamic boarding school leader, and founder of a university in West Sumbawa, was mature enough to formulate the concept of a Fitrah Regency with the hope of establishing a Natural Civilization.
Hopefully the concept of Fitrah Regency initiated by founding father West Sumbawa is not forgotten. It has not succumbed to new jargon focused on physical development, but has forgotten the importance of spiritual and intellectual intelligence. Therefore, the people of West Sumbawa must advance in literacy, education, thought, and action.
To advance and enhance educational literacy in West Sumbawa, access to educational literacy and knowledge is essential. Educational knowledge is a major investment in the progress of a region and a nation.
A brief look at literacy activities in West Sumbawa is still not widespread. Literacy advocates and literacy enthusiast communities remain underserved. The so-called Literacy Movement has yet to fully resonate. Literacy is the human consciousness to escape the confines of ignorance and move toward knowledge.
Literacy Movement It should not be underestimated. Because the literacy movement is a movement of intellectual intelligence and intelligence that must be nurtured by a society that wishes to build progress and create civilization.
Access to books and reading spaces in West Sumbawa must be addressed. Reading activities should not be limited to schools. They should be promoted in every village, sub-district, and even at the neighborhood level, and in every government office. If this can be realized, West Sumbawa's instruments will be complete.
