RELIMA RI Bumi Gora: Supports the NTB Reading, NTB Global Program, Through the Development of Teaching Modules in Gumi Tastura

In order to optimize the existence and function of the Central Lombok Regency Education and Culture Office, the Cultural Sector is making strategic efforts and patterns to revitalize reading materials with local content by compiling Sasak language teaching modules for elementary school level.

This breakthrough, initiated by the Cultural Sector of the Central Lombok Education and Culture Office, is combined with collaboration with academics and practitioners in Bumi Tatas Tuhu Trasna, Central Lombok.

One of the speakers appointed to fill the Sasak language teaching module activity is Randa Anggarista, who was recently selected as a Community Literacy Volunteer (RELIMA) from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.

Randa, who is also a lecturer in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Qamarul Huda Badaruddin Bagu University, was not only assigned to compile teaching modules, but also participated in facilitating the Focused Discussion on Compiling Teaching Modules which took place for two days, Wednesday-Thursday, July 23 and 25, 2025 with local content teachers in Central Lombok Regency.

When met at Grand Royal Batujai, Randa revealed that the preparation of teaching modules which actually emphasize reading materials with local content, is a breath of fresh air, to introduce and revive the local Sasak language, amidst the lack of reading materials in regional languages in Central Lombok Regency.

The involvement of academics and practitioners such as Community Literacy Volunteers in the preparation of these teaching materials (modules) is a form of cross-line collaboration in realizing various innovative strategic steps, as well as enriching the treasure trove of reading book references.

Randa also added that, "We have the slogan NTB Reads, NTB Goes Global, this slogan will only be realized through various alternatives, such as compiling local content reading materials, one of which is this.

"Especially given the richness of Central Lombok and West Nusa Tenggara's rich local wisdom, it's a shared responsibility to publicize such knowledge. Therefore, support and synergy are needed across all sectors, from the grassroots to philanthropic initiatives," Randa explained.

In compiling this reading material, Randa was accompanied by Lalu M. Gitan Prahana from the Rinjani Geopark and Bang Ung, founder of UAC Studio. The three of them successfully completed five levels of reading material in the Sasak language.

Starting with level A for early readers; B1, B2, and B3 for beginning readers; and C for intermediate readers. After passing the dissemination stage through a Focused Discussion activity held at the Grand Royal Hotel Batujai.

These five graded reading materials will then go through a revision and publication stage, after which they will be distributed to schools.

Greetings Relima. Greetings Literacy!
