North Lombok ā As a form of commitment to strengthening literacy culture at the village level, Dedi Apyandi, a representative of the Community Literacy Volunteers (RELIMA) of the National Library-North Lombok Regency, was entrusted to be one of the judges in the Village Library Competition at the North Lombok Regency Level.
This activity was organized by the North Lombok Regency Library and Archives Service, with the aim of improving the management and services of village libraries as the spearhead of community literacy. Seven village libraries from five sub-districts participated in the two-day competition, July 8-9, 2025. These included:
1. Malaka Village Library
2. Tanjung Village Library
3. Bentek Village "Polah Palih Polos" Library
4. Joint Village Library
5. Sukadana Village Library
6. Kayangan Village Library
7. Sesait Village Library
In his capacity as a judge, Dedi Apyandi not only conducted technical assessments, but also provided strategic input regarding strengthening the role of village libraries in community empowerment through a community-based approach.

Dedi's presence as a judge also represents the active Literacy Volunteers in the region, who have been known to actively assist literacy communities and village communities in developing a reading culture and managing information.
"Village libraries aren't just places to store books; they should be centers of community learning. Through this event, we hope to see improvements in the quality and innovation of village library managers in addressing local literacy needs," said Dedi.
This competition is one of the real efforts of the North Lombok Regency Library and Archives Service in encouraging the existence of libraries as an important pillar in human resource development in the regency area.
In addition, this activity also serves as a shared learning space for village library managers to share information on good practices, innovations, and challenges they face in the field.
This activity is expected to spark new enthusiasm for all parties, especially village governments throughout North Lombok Regency, to continue supporting the growth and development of libraries as centers of literacy and empowerment of village communities.
